It addresses a wide range of issues, including as online privacy, access to and usage of the internet, and freedom of speech.

Most people and corporations today frequently use electronic signatures to confirm the authenticity of electronic documents. This is now dependable and reliable. If someone else uses this signature improperly, it is against the law and is a cybercrime.

In order to address e-commerce and cybercrime, the IT Act 2000 was passed in India on October 17, 2000. Cyber legislation was passed after the Indian Constitution was written. Since it is not on the three lists—Union, State, or Joint—it is a residual subject under the control of the Central Government. The act's definition of cyber law includes the following qualities:

An individual who commits identity theft may face federal or state criminal prosecution. Another possibility is that a victim will file a lawsuit. Cyber solicitors work to defend and bring charges against anyone who is charged with using the internet to commit fraud.

The internet has made it simpler to violate copyright. In the early days of online communication, copyright violations were all too widespread. Therefore, both businesses and individuals need the help of lawyers to secure copyright protections. Cyberlaw that safeguards people's and companies' rights to profit from their creative works is known as copyright infringement.
Defamation
To express oneself, several employees use the internet. When someone make false statements on social media, it can border on defamation. Civil rules called defamation laws prevent people from making false public statements that can harm a person's or a company's reputation. When someone makes false statements that violate civil law online, this is known as defamation.
