Child marriage means a marriage and domestic parternship between a child and another child and between child and an adult

Status of Child Marriage

In India practice of child marriage was first legally prohibited in 1929 through " The Child Marriage Restrain Act". This act was amended in 1978 to prescribe the 21 and 18 the minimum age for men and women marriage respectively.

In 2006 a new act 'The Prohibition oF Child Marriage Act ' was came into force by repleaing the earlier act

However In India Child Marriage is still practicing in India on very large scale

According to National Family Survey 40% of World's 60 million child marriage take place in India .

In India Child Marriage is practicing as shard of people .It's is considered unlawful in eyes of law not in the eyes of the people of India . Child Marriage is mostly practicing in rural area of the nation.

Majorly in the states of Bihar ,Rajasthan, Jharkhand ,West Bengal , Telegana, Uttar pradesh ,Gujarat and so on .

State Wise Distribution of Child Marriage.

Bihar

Child Marriage is highly prevalent in Bihar,68.2 % currently married women aged between 20-24 whose marriage before the age of 18. Among these highly cluster area is Comprises in the district of Bankar, Jamui and Nawad respectively.

Rajasthan

On the Ocassion of Akshya Tritiya popularly known as Akha Teej hundreds of child marriage are openly performed .Akha Teej is time when child marriage is performed in almost every district of Rajasthan .Among them it's mainly performed in the western part of Rajasthan as Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jhalwar , sirohi , Tonk and so on. It's around 57.6% .

Jharkhand

In Jharkhand is on 55.4% which is mainly in the district of Deogarh followed by Giridih and Hazaribag

West Bengal

In west Bengal is 54.8% which is mainly in the district of maldah followed by Purba , Pachimi , mushidabad , Bribhum , purba Bardhman and so on.

Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh is 54.8% which is mainly performed in the district of Bahraich , Siddhart nagar and northern part f Uttar pradesh this child marriage is practiced by the mankind .

Child marriage mostly performed in thes states which is mention above .Apart from these it's performed and highly practiced in these states as, Madhya pradesh ( 53.8%) , chattisgarh ( 45%) , Maharashtra (40%), which is followed by Orissa (37.6%), Gujarat(35.8) .

According to above mentioned data it's clearly seen that Child Marriage Act reality in India is not as much as it's prohibited by law . People now days also openly performed Child Marriage even after We have law related to Child Marriage .
